Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BuildRez (the “Service”), operated by Syed Mohammad Mustafa Shah (“BuildRez”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is currently offered to users in the United States only.

2. The Service

BuildRez helps you create application materials, including optimized resumes, tailored cover letters, LinkedIn optimization content, and ATS-related analysis. Outputs are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and are provided as drafting aids, not as guaranteed outcomes.

3. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful;
• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or experience;
• Attempt to access other users’ data, probe or bypass security, or disrupt the Service;
• Use the Service to generate false, deceptive, or fraudulent content;
• Resell, scrape, or abuse the Service or its underlying providers.

5. AI-Generated Content, Accuracy & Limitations

AI outputs may contain errors or omissions and must be reviewed by you before use. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any application materials you submit to employers. BuildRez does not guarantee interviews, job offers, or any specific results, and does not provide career, legal, or employment advice.

Accuracy and “hallucinations.”The Service relies on probabilistic AI models that can produce output which is inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or that sounds confident and authoritative but is in fact false (commonly called “hallucinations”). Not every result will be perfect or fully authentic. We do not warrant that any output is accurate, reliable, or fit for any particular purpose, and you must independently verify all content — including dates, job titles, achievements, and any factual claims — before relying on or submitting it.

Bias and fairness. AI systems can reflect biases present in the data used to train them and may, despite our efforts, generate output that is uneven or unintended. While we work to reduce skew and improve fairness, we cannot guarantee that outputs are free from bias. You remain responsible for reviewing your materials and ensuring they accurately and fairly represent you.

ATS scores are estimates.Any applicant tracking system (ATS) score, match percentage, or keyword analysis we provide is an approximate, informational estimate only. Real ATS platforms are proprietary and each scores resumes differently, so any score is inherently subjective and carries a margin of error. A score is not a guarantee that an employer’s system will parse, rank, or accept your resume the same way, and it should not be treated as a definitive or objective measure.

6. Subscriptions, Billing, and AI Credits

• Paid plans are billed as recurring monthly subscriptions in US dollars through our payment processor, Stripe.
• Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. You authorize recurring charges to your payment method.
• Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits. AI credits do not roll over and reset at the start of each billing period.
• You may cancel at any time, in a few clicks and at no charge: open Current Plan in your dashboard, choose Manage Billing, then Cancel subscription. Cancellation stops future renewals; your access and any remaining AI credits continue through the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
• Refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Taxes may apply depending on your location.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you upload and the materials generated for you. You grant BuildRez a limited license to process your content solely to provide the Service. BuildRez retains all rights in the Service itself, including its software, design, and trademarks.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication, database, and storage), and OpenAI (AI processing). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable.

9. Data Protection

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you provide, including any personal information it may contain about other people.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BuildRez will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Referral Program

BuildRez may offer a referral program that rewards account holders with AI credits. Where offered: (a) a referral is credited only when a new user who signed up through your referral link becomes a paying subscriber for the first time; sign-ups alone earn nothing; (b) each referred person can be counted once, ever, across all accounts and email addresses; (c) rewards are granted once per referral, in the month the referred user first subscribes, subject to a monthly reward cap — rewards above the cap are released in subsequent months; (d) if the referred user’s payment is refunded or charged back, we may revoke the associated reward, and revoked rewards are not necessarily reinstated; (e) self-referrals, automated or fraudulent sign-ups, and referrals procured by misleading means are prohibited, and we may withhold, revoke, or claw back rewards and suspend accounts involved in abuse; (f) referral credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and follow the same expiry rules as your other AI credits. We may modify or discontinue the referral program at any time.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the version and “last updated” date above, and may ask you to re-accept the updated Terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
